The song was written by Taylor Swift and produced by Nathan Chapman with Swift's help. It was released on January 19, 2010 by Big Machine Records as a promotional single from the corresponding soundtrack for the 2010 film Valentine's Day, which she acted in. Swift had previously written the song and offered it to producers for the film's soundtrack. Musically, "Today Was a Fairytale" is pop-influenced and, lyrically, speaks of a magical date.It received generally positive reception from contemporary critics, some who deemed it the best song on the soundtrack, and enjoyed commercial success by reaching the top ten in three countries. In Canada, "Today Was a Fairytale" became Swift's first number-one song. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and therefore tied for her highest-charting song in the United States. Picking up where her 1994 hit 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' left off, Mariah Carey will be releasing a brand new holiday album, 'Merry Christmas II You,' on Nov. 2. The record includes four original songs written by Carey, including 'Oh Santa!', the album's first single. Jingling bells and a plea to Santa open the upbeat, festive track that has Carey wishing that he'll bring her back her "baby" for Christmas. 'Merry Christmas II You' also features a new recording of 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' and some traditional holiday tunes, including 'The First Noel,' 'Little Drummer Boy,' 'O Little Town of Bethlehem' and 'O Come All Ye Faithful.'

JULIA STILES STARS IN THE TV-SHOW "DEXTER"

It's official; Stiles has sealed the deal to appear on the show for ten episodes. Even better, Showtime’s press release includes a brief yet telling character description. Julia Stiles has joined the cast of Showtime's Emmy-nominated drama series "Dexter". Stiles, who will appear in ten episodes in the upcoming fifth season, will play a mysterious young woman who forms a unique relationship with Dexter in the wake of the death of his wife.
After EW revealed Stiles' role was nothing along the lines of John Lithgow's Trinity Killer, it was quite obvious Stiles would fill the void left by Julie Benz who plays Dexter's late wife, Rita. However, Dexter does have a tendency to make friends with some crazy people. There was Rudy who turned out to be The Ice Truck Killer in season one, Lila in season two and the ADA harboring a dark side of his own, Miguel Prado, in season three.

The clip is created in partnership with MINI and based on "the idea of getting away." "Getaway" is expected to appear in Michelle Branch's upcoming studio album "Everything Comes and Goes". The music video sees Michelle hooking up with Timbaland in studio. The country, pop/rock singer is laying her vocal and strumming her guitar in the recording booth, while the rapper/producer is sitting behind the mixing table. "Everything Comes and Goes" itself was actually slated to be released in 2009, but pushed back to later this year due to some situations in her label which were out of Michelle's hands. In order to keep it fresh, "we're gonna have some fantastic new people on board to work this record," Michelle said earlier this year. In addition to Timbaland, she reportedly will also work with Akon.

Dexter is an American television drama series that centers on Dexter Morgan, a forensic bloodstain pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who moonlights as a serial killer. The show debuted on October 1, 2006, on Showtime and the fifth season ended on December 12, 2010. As of December 2, 2010, the show has been renewed for a sixth season. Set in Miami, the show's first season was largely based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay, the first of his series of Dexter novels. Subsequent seasons have evolved independently of Lindsay's works. It was adapted for television by screenwriter James Manos, Jr., who wrote the pilot episode.
Dexter structures his killing around "The Code of Harry", a body of ethics and procedures devised by his adoptive father Harry (who was a Miami cop) to make sure Dexter never gets caught and to ensure that Dexter kills only other killers. Harry also trained Dexter in how to interact convincingly with other people despite being a psychopath, since the murder of his biological mother, Laura Moser, did in fact turn Dexter into a serial killer. As an adult, Dexter has largely escaped suspicion (with some exceptions) by being genial and generous and maintaining generally superficial relationships. However, his attachment to his sister Deb, his significant other Rita, his stepchildren and (later) his biological son have all complicated his double life and made him question his need to kill.
In February 2008, edited reruns began to air on CBS. The series has enjoyed wide critical acclaim and popularity. Season 4 aired its season finale on December 13, 2009 to a record-breaking audience of 2.6 million viewers, making it the most-watched original series episode ever on Showtime. Michael C. Hall has received several awards and nominations for his portrayal of Dexter, including a Golden Globe. The series was picked up by Showtime for a sixth season, which was billed as not being the final season, leaving possibilities open for a seventh.
Orphaned at the age of three, Dexter Morgan is adopted by Miami police officer Harry Morgan and his wife Doris. After discovering that young Dexter has been killing neighborhood pets, Harry believes that the boy is a psychopath and teaches him "The Code" as a way to channel his violent urges towards people who "deserve it". In this code, Dexter's victims must be killers themselves who have murdered the undeserving and will likely do so again. Dexter must also have proof that the criminals are guilty. Most importantly, Dexter must never get caught. Flashbacks throughout the series show Harry, who died several years before, instructing Dexter in how to appear normal and cover his tracks. Dexter has followed The Code religiously to satisfy his Dark Passenger (what he calls his urge to kill). Like many serial killers, he keeps trophies; before dispatching a wrongdoer, Dexter makes a small incision on their right cheek with a scalpel and collects a blood sample which he preserves on a blood slide. He stores his collection in a box concealed inside his air conditioner. Dexter is (with varying success) able to fake 'normal' emotions and maintain his appearance as an unremarkable friend and neighbor. He does maintain a few personal relationships, however. He is "fond" of his adoptive sister Debra. She is unaware of Harry's training or Dexter's secret life, but harbors lingering jealousy of the perceived preferential treatment Harry gave Dexter. As part of his "disguise", Dexter dates a woman named Rita who is too traumatized from years of abuse at the hands of her ex-husband, Paul Bennett, to be intimate with Dexter. This suits Dexter, who believes getting intimate will reveal his darker side to Rita. He is fond of (and good with) children in general, particularly Rita’s two children, Astor and Cody.
Connections have been suggested between the TV show Dexter and an ongoing murder charge against Mark Twitchell of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. On December 3, 2008, Twitchell pled not guilty to the charge of first degree murder of 38-year-old John Altinger, whose body is still missing. Twitchell filmed footage for a production of House of Cards (entirely unrelated to the British production House of Cards), a horror-romance similar to Dexter's clandestine murders in which he allegedly murdered Altinger. Det. Mark Anstey of the Edmonton Police Service was quoted as saying "We have a lot of information to suggest he definitely idolizes Dexter." In the summer of 2008, Twitchell had posted a series of ominous Facebook statuses in which he "believed he had a lot in common with Dexter Morgan". In November 2009, Andrew Conley, 17, was arrested in Rising Sun, Indiana, US, in connection with the death of his 10-year-old brother, Conner. In an affidavit filed in Ohio County court, police said that Andrew told investigators that he identified with the character. "Andrew stated that he watches a show called 'Dexter' on Showtime, about a serial killer," prosecutors said in an affidavit. "He stated, 'I feel just like him."

Tot pe la jumatatea lui iunie 1962, Marilyn Monroe era programata la sedinte foto pentru revistele Vogue si Cosmopolitan. S-a hotarat sa se duca. Pentru una dintre ele, dorea sa foloseasca drept fundal plaja din spatele casei lui Pat Kennedy Lawford. Astfel, ea si Pat s-au intalnit sa discute despre sedinta foto si sa se mai puna la curent cu noutatile.(...) Cand Marilyn a ajuns acasa la ea, Pat si-a dat seama ca se afla intr-o stare groaznica. Conform unei marturii ulterioare, Marilyn i-a spus lui Pat ca era umilita de ceea ce se intamplase la Fox, ca niciodata pana atunci nu avusese parte de atata agitatie in viata ei, insa acum incerca sa se concentreze pe viitor.(...) I-a spus lui Pat ca, dupa parerea ei, filmul "Something's Got To Give" avea sa fie reluat. I-a zis ca trimisese telegrame multora dintre actori, cerandu-le iertare si rugandu-i sa se intoarca. "Cu toate astea, mi-ar placea ca intreaga echipa sa fie noua," ii spusese ea lui Pat, "pentru ca nu stiu daca pot sa le fac fata. I-am dezamagit pe toti, iar acum cred ca ma urasc."(...) Pat era ingrijorata.I se parea ca Marilyn innebunise. Cativa dintre prietenii lui Pat luau masa pe terasa, cand a sosit actrita.Pat i-a propus sa se alature grupului."Poate ca soarele ne face bine," a zis ea."Vrei un whisky sec?" Marilyn a spus ca bineinteles ca vrea un whisky sec, insa mai intai a rugat-o ceva pe Pat."Te rog, spune-le oaspetilor ca sunt aici si le vad reactiile. Daca nu sunt incantati de faptul ca o sa stau si eu la masa, n-am sa vin cu tine." Lui Pat i s-a parut foarte ciudat. Insa nimic nu parea in regula cu Marilyn in acea zi. Cand a inceput sa murmure cuvinte pe care Pat nici macar nu putea sa le inteleaga, a decis ca e mai bine daca Marilyn nu face cunostinta cu restul grupului. Dupa cum isi amintea mai tarziu, a stat cu Marilyn la bar si a incercat sa discute serios cu ea despre medicamentele pe care le lua, daca facea sau nu abuz. Nu se cunosc detaliile acestei conversatii, ci doar faptul ca Marilyn s-a suparat foarte rau:"Credeam ca ma simt mai bine", i-a spus ea lui Pat, cand se pregatea sa plece, "insa acum vad ca nu ma simt mai bine. Ma simt mai rau, Pat. Mai rau ca niciodata. Poate ma simt mai rau ca mama, iar ea se simte foarte rau, Pat!" A iesit din casa plangand. Aceeasi ruda a familiei Kennedy completeaza:"dupa acest episod, Pat tremura toata. Atunci si-a dat seama ca nu era o idee buna sa fi sincer si deschis cu Marilyn.Cred ca trebuie sa fiu ca toti ceilalti din viata ei si sa-i spun ca totul e in regula, a spus ea, pentru ca nu cred ca este in stare sa faca fata adevarului. Pat a afirmat ca daca ar fi fost vorba de oricare alta femeie care avea necazuri, l-ar fi sunat imediat pe sotul respectivei. Insa Marilyn nu avea pe nimeni, doar pe psihiatrul acela infiorator, in care nu avea deloc incredere."(...) La 26 iunie 1962, intr-o miercuri, Bobby Kennedy trebuia sa se intoarca la Los Angeles fara Ethal, iar Peter si Pat planuiau sa ii intoarca gestul frumos si sa dea o petrecere pentru el. "Vreau ca Bobby sa vada casa mea cea noua," i-a spus Marilyn lui Pat la telefon, la inceputul saptamanii."(...) Si iata cum s-a ajuns la situatia putin probabila ca, la 28 iunie, Peter Lawford sa-i conduca pe Pat si pe Bobby Kennedy cu masina la casa lui Marilyn Monroe. Dupa ce au ajuns, Marilyn i-a invitat inauntru si i-a aratat casa lui Bobby; Peter si Pat mai fusesera la ea. Curios este faptul ca Marilyn nu avea nici o pretentie de la casa ei. Era foarte cu picioarele pe pamant, mai ales luand in considerare cat de cunoscuta era atunci. Casa ei era destul de modesta, avea doar cateva camere. Nu era mai mare decat casa sotilor Bolender, in care a crescut. De fapt, era chiar mai mica! Cu toate astea, nu a manifestat nici o retinere cand a venit vorba sa i-o arate lui Bobby Kennedy, un om bogat care traia in ditamai vila din Virginia, pe o proprietate uriasa. Casa ei era a ei si era mandra de ea; Marilyn era dornica sa se mandreasca cu ea, indiferent cat de mica si neimportanta parea in ochii strainilor. Marilyn considera ca existau probleme mai importante decat cati bani castiga ea si cat de bine etala lucrul asta.(...) Tot atunci, Frank Sinatra a sunat-o pe Pat, ceea ce era neobisnuit, pentru ca ei doi vorbeau destul de rar, sa-i spuna ca-i parea rau ca se razbunase pe sotul ei dupa ce presedintele JFK se hotarase sa nu mai doarma in casa lui din Palm Springs. Pat s-a impotrivit ideii de a merge in Nevada ca sa-l vada pe Sinatra. Totusi, simtea ca trebuie macar sa-i spuna sotului ei despre invitatie. Desigur, el abea astepta sa mearga.(...) Marilyn a spus ca vrea si ea sa mearga, ca i-ar prinde bine sa ia un pic de aer, mai ales ca era suparata pentru ce i se intamplase mamei ei la Rock Heaven.(...) Cand au ajuns cei trei, Sinatra i-a salutat si a instalat-o pe Marilyn in Chalet 52, unul dintre locurile rezervate pentru oaspetii speciali.Apoi i-a rugat pe sotii Lawford sa plece, ca sa poata discuta singur cu Marilyn. George Jacobs spune ca Frank auzise ca Marilyn "trecea printr-o criza" si dorea sa afle mai multe."Stia ce se intampla," spune Jacobs, "in problema cu fratii Kennedy. Sau auzise zvonuri.Stia ca e suparata si dorea sa afle mai multe." Mickey Rudin, care era atat avocatul lui Marilyn cat si al lui Frank, a spus in 1996:"Frank era un om foarte milos. A chemat-o pe Marilyn la Cal-Nevada ca sa se distreze, sa-i ofere o scapare de la problemele ei. Daca in acele momente a fost suparata, e foarte posibil sa fi facut o indigestie dupa pranzul consumat, atat era de emotiva si cu o sensibilitate exagerata. De fapt, ar fi putut chiar sa aiba o criza imaginara."(...) Este foarte adevarat ca Sinatra era renumit pentru grija pe care le-o purta prietenilor lui. Cu toate astea, una dintre cele mai mari probleme ale sale era ca nu judeca deloc bine cand venea vorba de unii dintre ei, multi fiind personaje mafiote. Mai mult, nu parea sa-i pese pe cine prezenta prietenilor sai mafioti, iar asta se pare ca a fost una dintre problemele mari ale acelui weekend la Cal-Nevada. La aproximativ trei ore dupa sosirea lui Pat si Peter Lawford impreuna cu Marilyn, in holul de la Cal-Nevada ii astepta o surpriza: Sam Giancana, unul dintre cei mai cunoscuti mafioti, care avea legatura cu tot felul de afaceri mafiote, unele dintre acestea implicandu-i si pe fratii Kennedy.Sinatra si-a trimis avionul personal la Los Angeles, ca sa-l ia si sa-l aduca la Cal-Nevada.Faptul ca Sinatra il invitase la casa lui de vacanta in acelasi timp cu sora presedintelui si sotul ei, n-avea nici o logica. Fireste, Pat s-a suparat si a vrut sa se intoarca la Los Angeles.Dupa cum marturiseste un martor, in clipa in care l-a vazut pe Giancana a zis:"Gata. Trebuie sa plecam." Peter, care parea stanjenit de faptul ca Pat vorbise destul de tare si exista posibilitatea ca Giancana s-o fi auzit, s-a indreptat catre mafiot si i-a strans mana si a inceput sa vorbeasca cu el. Cei doi au privit-o de mai multe ori pe Marilyn, in timpul conversatiei, ca si cum ar fi vorbit despre ea, pentru ca Marilyn tocmai il privise pe Giancana cu cautatura uimita; nu se stie daca l-a recunoscut sau nu."Nu ma simt bine", i-a spus ea lui Pat."Nu pot sa zbor din nou.Nu putem sa plecam acum." Pat si-a pus bratul pe umarul lui Marilyn si i-a soptit ceva la ureche. Cuvintele au deranjat-o pe Marilyn."Nu-mi pasa," a zis ea ridicand vocea."Nu-mi pasa de nimic.Vreau doar sa ma intind, chiar acum.Du-ma in camera, Pat. Acum."(...) Roberta Linn, care canta la Cal-Nevada impreuna cu Frank Sinatra si Buddy Greco, isi aminteste:"Tin minte ca parul ei a fost ciufulit tot timpul, iar uneori si-l tinea strans sub esarfa.Era foarte trista si parea absenta.A participat la spectacolele lui Sinatra in fiecare seara: el canta in sala principala, iar ea statea in spate, cu un aer foarte nefericit.Ce pacat, ma gandeam, ca fata asta avea tot ce-si putea dori, insa de fapt nu avea nimic.Era foarte greu s-o vezi in starea aia."(...) Marilyn incepuse sa-si injecteze singura o combinatie de fenobarbital, nembutal si seconal, pe care o numea "injectie cu vitamine". Joe Langford confirma:"In ziua cand si-a deschis poseta si a scos seringile, stateam langa domnul Sinatra si Pat Kennedy Lawford.Marilyn a fost foarte relaxata.Cauta altceva, asa ca le-a scos si le-a pus pe masa.Lui Sinatra i-a pierit culoarea din obraji, devenise alb ca hartia: Marilyn! Iisuse Hristoase! Pentru ce sunt seringile astea? Ea i-a raspuns: A, sunt pentru injectiile mele cu vitamine. Avea o atitudine foarte nonsalanta. Pat parea ca mai are un pic si lesina. Of, Doamne, Marilyn, a spus ea. Of, Doamne! Apoi Marilyn a raspuns:E in regula, Pat. Stiu ce fac.
A tot cautat in geanta pana cand, in sfarsit, a gasit ceea ce cauta: un ac.Toti stateam in jurul ei cu gura cascata, iar ea a deschis o cutie de pastile si a luat una. Apoi s-a scuzat, spunand ca nu se simte bine si vrea sa se odihneasca in camera ei. Mai tarziu, Pat a trecut pe la ea ca sa vada ce face. Dupa cum povestea mai tarziu, Pat a batut la usa lui Marilyn de mai multe ori, pana cand Marilyn a raspuns, impleticindu-se si cazand inapoi in pat. I-a zis ca-i era greata. Pat s-a speriat si a intrebat-o pe Marilyn daca-si facuse o "injectie cu vitamine".La un moment dat, lui Marilyn i s-a facut foarte rau.Pat spune ca a ingenuncheat langa ea si i-a tinut parul pe spate, cat Marilyn a vomitat in toaleta. Fireste, s-a dovedit un weekend foarte dificil pentru toti cei care venisera la Cal-Nevada, ingreunat si mai mult de agentii FBI, prezenti din cauza lui Sam Giancana.Pentru ca Sinatra apreciase gresit situatia, au aparut o multime de scenarii imaginare din povestile care au circulat, majoritatea neadevarate, despre acele doua zile din iulie 1962. Daca-l pui pe Sinatra intr-o camera cu Kennedy, un mafiot si o vedeta de cinema, oare te poti astepta la altceva decat zvonuri,barfe si insinuari?(...)
"Frank Sinatra nu stia ce sa creada," spune valetul lui, George Jacobs."Era foarte suparat. Da, o iubea pe Marilyn. Insa intrecuse masura. Daca murea la Cal-Nevada, in timp ce el era acolo? Ar fi fost ingrozitor. Asa ca, in secunda in care s-a saturat, mi-a zis: Ia-o de aici si scapa de ea imediat. Asta a fost tot. But for San Francisco-based Train, singer Pat Monahan told Reuters the new song is less about commerce and more about wanting to conjure holiday joy during tough times. Marilyn s-a intors pe platou a doua zi, pentru ceea ce avea sa fie o zi incredibila de filmare a unei scene nud, in piscina. Era pentru prima data cand o actrita americana facea asa ceva si, desigur, protagonista nu putea fi alta decat Marilyn. Urma sa poarte un costum de baie de culoarea pielii. Totusi, nu a rezistat prea mult cu el; l-a scos si s-a hotarat sa filmeze chiar nud. Platoul era inchis, la filmare participau doar cei a caror prezenta era de neinlocuit. Filmarile din acea zi ne dezvaluie o Marilyn in toane bune. Corpul ei, bronzat si voluptuos, nu arata nicicand mai bine. Parea o tanara de 25 de ani, nicicum o femeie care se apropia de 36. Charles Casillo, biograful lui Monroe, remarca:"Era o parte din perspectiva schizofrenica, contradictorie, pe care o avea atunci despre sine. O parte din ea era gata, chiar dornica, sa treaca la roluri mai serioase, iar alta parte din ea stia ce asteptau inca oamenii de la ea. A doua zi, cand a revenit, era intr-o forma ingrozitoare si nu reusea sa se concentreze. La 1 iunie implinea 36 de ani. Pe platou o astepta un tort aniversar care i-a placut, iar in acea dupa-amiaza a participat la o actiune caritabila pe stadionul Dodger. Dupa ce a ajuns acasa, in seara aceea, situatia s-a inrautatit si mai tare. Mai tarziu, in seara respectiva, Marilyn a aparut in casa familiei Greenson intr-o stare atat de deplorabila, incat copiii lui nu stiau ce sa faca cu ea. Dr. Greenson si Hildy, sotia lui, se aflau in vacanta la Roma."Nu putea sa doarma si tot repeta cat de rau se simte, cat de neinsemnata. Spunea ca era abandonata, ca era urata, ca oamenii se purtau frumos cu ea doar pentru ca aveau ceva de obtinut de pe urma ei. Spunea ca nu mai merita sa traiasca." Doctorul pe care Greenson il rugase sa il inlocuiasca in timpul vacantei sale a venit intr-un suflet; parerea lui a fost ca Marilyn dorea sa se sinucida. A incercat sa-i confiste toate pastilele pe care le avea si spera sa se simta bine macar pana la intoarcerea dr. Greenson. Iar Greenson a revenit imediat ce a aflat cat de rau se simtea celebra lui pacienta. Dupa inca o absenta de pe platou, echipa si distributia o cam terminasera cu ea. Dr. Greenson s-a intalnit cu directorii de la Fox si le-a spus ca Marilyn era gata sa faca tot ce i se cerea; el garanta ca se va intoarce la lucru. Nu a fost crezut. La 8 iunie, Fox a concediat-o, apoi i-a intentat un proces pentru jumatate de milion de dolari.(...) Fireste, Marilyn s-a suparat din cauza concedierii. Richard Merryman ii spusese ca vrea sa vorbeasca nu numai despre legenda MM, ci si despre femeia MM. Imi amintesc ca purta o haina alba, care mie mi s-a parut a fi din satin. Purta o rochie alba si-mi amintesc clar ca avea tocuri-cui albe. Arata superb, in alb complet. Foarte impresionanta, foarte...ca o vedeta de cinema." In ciuda faptului ca Marilyn i s-a adresat acestui doctor pe numele angajatorului sau anterior, facandu-l sa inteleaga ca avusese atat de multi doctori incat nici nu-si mai aducea aminte cum arata, curand a devenit clar ca nu-l cunostea deloc. El a incuviintat."Ei bine, o sa ma rog pentru tine, iar tu te poti ruga pentru mine," a spus ea, pe un ton sarcastic."Asta e mai puternic decat orice, iar Norma Jeane stie asta."
"Nu mama, nu", a insistat Marilyn. Apoi i-a explicat ca poate se inselasera in ceea ce priveste Stiinta Crestina, din moment ce pana atunci nici una dintre ele nu fusese vindecata de credinta. I-a spus ca aveau nevoie de ceva mai mult decat credinta, aveau nevoie si de medicamente. Apoi i-a explicat pe scurt ca si ea avusese de curand o perioada foarte grea, iar acum credea cu tarie ca amandoua ar avea de castigat daca ar lua torazina. Gladys a ascultat cu atentie pana cand Marilyn a terminat ce avea de zis. Apoi s-a uitat la Schwartz."Nu stiu cu ce i-ai umplut capul copilei mele," spuse ea, dupa cum isi aminteste doctorul,"insa Norma Jeane stie ca in Rai ajungi prin rugaciune si cucernicie."

Stolen is the second book in Kelly Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld series. In Stolen, Kelly Armstrong creates a fascinating plot, exploring not only Elena, the only female werewolf, but a whole band of supernatural beings, a plot to capture and expose these creatures and the sick mind of a multimillionaire. Sounds a bit difficult to believe, but it works. The story opens with Elena going to investigate a suspicious internet advertisement from someone claiming to have solid proof of the existence of werewolves up for sale. Within her Pack, it’s mainly Elena’s job to make sure that the activities of the Mutts (non-Pack werewolves) do not expose their existence, so she always investigates claims that look like they might amount to something. As it turns out, it amounts to much more than Elena expected. Two witches tell her they put the ad on the internet to lure her to them so that they could warn her. Elena, who until that moment had believed that werewolves were the only supernatural beings, suddenly finds out that there are in fact many other supernatural races; and that the safety of all these groups are at stake. Before she knows it, Elena finds herself at a meeting of the supernaturals - from Witches and Shamans to Half-Demons and Vampires. This unlikely assembly strive to prevent a group of scientists undergoing an investigation from capturing and exposing their kind. Despite the meeting and warnings, Elena is kidnapped and taken to a high-security compound in a forest in the middle of nowhere, where she finds many other supernatural beings being held. There, they are kept under round the clock surveillance, living in cells with 1-way, soundproof glass for walls. They are poked and prodded by doctors and scientists looking to find a way to tap into their powers for the benefit of the human race. However, we soon find that the manipulative, self-centred billionaire Tyrone Winsloe, who is funding the project, has an agenda of his own. He is funding the project on the condition that once the scientists are finished with each supernatural ‘specimen’, he can let them go in the forest, which is rigged with high-tech surveillance equipment and traps, and then proceed to ‘hunt’ them to their death. This is his sick idea of a game.
Stolen is brilliantly written, combining quick, quirky, snatches of humour with graphic, gory scenes of battle and mayhem. Kelly Armstrong provides just the right dose of comic relief to ease the tension that is built in the gorier scenes. The plot develops too quickly for the reader to become bored or to question the use of such ideas as a witch casting a spell to become invisible and really leaves us wanting more. All her characters are unique individuals and are very well developed as the story progresses. Another great thing about this book is that unlike other books that are part of a series, you don’t have to have read the book before it to be able to understand and enjoy it and it has a proper ending, instead of leaving you hanging. It is truly a brilliant read, with a gripping story-line that leaves you unable to put the book down.
Fantastic story, great plot, brilliantly written, well worth reading.

However, she learns that her Pack (the governing body of werewolves) is in trouble, and comes to their aid, flying to Stonehaven, the country estate of the pack Alpha. It is in Bear Valley, a fictional city in up-state New York. When Elena arrives, she is greeted by her ex-lover, Clayton Danvers, who is also the man who bit her and made her a werewolf (without her consent). Clayton is also the bodyguard and foster-son to Jeremy Danvers, the pack Alpha (leader). Elena learns that a local woman was found murdered on Stonehaven's land, and that she had been savaged by what authorities thought to be a dog. However, the Pack has determined that she was murdered by a Mutt, a rogue werewolf. They track the mutt and find out he is a recently escaped killer, who has even more recently been turned by a bite into a werewolf.
Armstrong says Bitten was inspired by an X-Files episode on werewolves. She had the idea to portray werewolves as other than "bloodthirsty, ravening beasts", and quickly wrote a short story about a young woman who becomes a werewolf to present to her writing group. Eventually, Armstrong fleshed out the short story into a novel that became Bitten. In the Women of the Otherworld series, unlike many modern horror fiction stories, werewolves transform into full wolves in a painful transmogrification, while maintaining their hair colour and body mass, making them extremely large wolves. Although transformations have to occur regularly, Armstrong's werewolves are not affected by phases of the moon, can shape-shift at will and, with practice, can learn to transform a single part of their body (as of yet, Jeremy and Elena are the only ones shown to be able to do this though it is strongly implied that Clay can as well). Werewolves can be killed by anything that can kill a human, and have no extra sensitivity to silver. They do, however age slower than humans. While in human form, werewolves have wolf-like characteristics, better hearing, a keener sense of smell and a wolf's instinctive reactions, while in wolf form they maintain their intellect but cannot talk and are more driven by instinct. In both forms they have greater strength and reflexes than a normal human or wolf and heal significantly faster. Hereditary Werewolves acquire these enhanced abilities gradually, following puberty, and have their first change in their late teens or early 20s. Non-hereditary werewolves start changing shortly after they are bitten, and not all survive the process; the bitten mutts took around a month to recover.
"Bitten" was nominated Best First Novel by the International Horror Guild.
For a while, there was discussion of making a movie adaptation of this novel. Angelina Jolie was approached to play the central role of Elena. This has however been scrapped for now but there is still a script floating around for it.

The lyrics describe how Taylor is holding a grudge against her ex boyfriend. Before performing this song, Swift says, "I always try to tell the audience that I really do try to be a nice person... but if you break my heart, hurt my feelings, or are really mean to me, I'm going to write a song about you. Haha. This song is the perfect example." There are two versions of this song. The censored version replaces the original lyrics of "I'll tell mine you're gay" with "you won't mind if I say."

As in Swift's other videos for single releases, "Picture to Burn"'s music video was directed by Trey Fanjoy. In an interview with CMT, Swift stated, "The storyline of the video is, if you break up with me, my band will ransack your house."

The film is told from the perspective of a disillusioned evangelical minister, who after years of performing exorcisms decides to participate in a documentary chronicling his last exorcism while exposing the fraud of his ministry. After receiving a letter from a farmer asking for help in driving out the devil, he meets the farmer's afflicted daughter.
The Reverend Cotton Marcus lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with his wife and son. Marcus is accustomed to performing exorcisms on "possessed" individuals, but his faith has waned after reading of an autistic child being killed during an exorcism, reminding him of his own disabled son. He comes to realize that he attributes the healing of his son to science, and not to Jesus Christ. He agrees to take part in a documentary designed to expose exorcism as a fraud, working with a film crew consisting of producer/director Iris Reisen and cameraman Dave Moskowitz. At random, he chooses a plea letter from an individual seeking an exorcism leading him to the farmhouse of Louis Sweetzer, a man who claims to have a possessed daughter named Nell. Prior to the exorcism, Marcus plants hidden speakers and electronic props so he can bamboozle the family into believing he is driving out a demon. After the ritual, Marcus and his film crew leave believing they have cured her of a mental state that was misdiagnosed as a possession by a powerful demon Abalam. The doctor concludes that Nell is in perfect physical condition. In the morning, her father takes her home and chains her in her room for slicing her brother Caleb in the face.

The film was shot using shaky camera, it was also shot in 'found footage'.
The Last Exorcism has been announced to be slated for release on Blu-ray on January 4, 2011.
The film remained in the top five, falling to number four in its second weekend.

THE LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF

The legend of the werewolf is one of the most ancient and wide spread. Stories of werewolves can be found as far back as history has been written. The name Werewolf most likely derives from Old English wer (or were) and wulf. The first part, wer, translates as "man" (in the sense of male human, not the race of humanity). It has cognates in several Germanic languages including Gothic wair, Old High German wer and Old Norse var, as well as in other Indo-European languages, such as Latin vir, Lithuanian vyras and Welsh gwr, which have the same meaning. The second half, wulf, is the ancestor of modern English "wolf"; in some cases it also had the general meaning "beast". An alternative etymology derives the first part from Old English weri (to wear); the full form in this case would be glossed as wearer of wolf skin. Lobisón is the word that stands for Werewolf in north Argentina.
The Lobisón is usually the seventh son in a family (whereas the seventh daughter is doomed to be a witch). When they turn into a hairy creature that resembles both a man and a wolf, the Lobisón (a legend greatly influenced by the Brazilian traditions), wanders in the hills and mountains, feeding mostly upon carrion. However, if they get to meet with a human being, they will instantly attack. The survivors (men and women) will then turn into Lobisones themselves, but it is quite rare, because most people die in the claws and teeth of these ferocious creatures. It is also said that if a Lobison's saliva sprinkles over a man or a woman, he or she will eventually turn into a Lobisón. In the early 1900s the legend of the 7th son (it had to be 7 boys in a row, no girls in between) transforming himself into a werewolf was so widespread and believed that it was causing a lot of children to be abandoned or given away for adoption, and it is said that in some cases the parents killed their own son. Because of this, the president passed a law in the 1920s by which the 7th son of a family automatically receives the godfathership of the president of Argentina! Through this, the state gives him a gold medal on the day of his baptism (when the president officially becomes his godfather) and a scholarship for all of his studies until his 21st birthday. Supposedly, this ended the phenomenon of people condemning their children for fear of the werewolf. The law is still in effect, and it is popularly known, and the presidents have always attended at least some of the baptisms, especially during election season. In Brazil, A humam only will become a "lobisomem" if he was the 7th children (male) from the same father and mother. He changes into a "lobisomem", for the first time when he is 13 years old. Just for two hours: from Midnight to 2:00 am. Always on Friday during Lent. The Finnish werewolves are rather melancholy creatures (surprisingly...). In our stories/legends/myths a person usually turns into a wolf without really wanting it, accidentally (by doing something that'll turn him into a wolf without knowing this might happen) or because some witch has put a spell on him (according to Finns, these witches would naturally be Sami, although the Swedes thought we were pretty good at magic ourselves). The werewolf (who's usually bound to be a wolf for nights and days until something releases him from the spell) then lurks around houses, sometimes eating cattle but rarely people and waits for somebody to recognize him. When somebody does (e.g the wolf's mother), she/he can break the spell by calling the werewolf by his Christian name or giving him some bread to eat. Sometimes after the werewolf had regained his human form, he would still have his tail till the day he died. Some houses actually exhibit sauna benches that have a hole in them, presumably cut for the ex-werewolf's tail. In Portugal, werewolves are called lobis-homems. In the 1400's there was one kind of lobis-homem that was very quite common: The gentle and non-attacking creature. Once fallen under a spell, the lobis-homem would attend a crossroad at night to become a wolf after groveling on the dirt. Then the creature would run into the countryside, howling out loud, without hurting anyone. A shy and sad creature, the Portuguese lobis-homem could be easily recognized, for it was a wolf with a short and yellow-furred tail. However, there was yet another kind of werewolf in Portugal, with little resemblance to this noble creature. It was the evil and devilish variety, far less-common though, linked directly to the black arts of witchcraft. Evil lobis-homems could be recognized by the shape of their eyes and sometimes because of the presence of the Devil's mark in some part of the body.

The only werewolf in Georgia's history is said to be buried in O'Neal's District in Talbot County. Some of the older citizens can tell the story of the unlikely person who could turn into a werewolf at will to maraud among the sheep. Local residents complained that many of their sheep were being attacked, even with several guards standing post. And the dead sheep were never eaten by their attacker, it seemed to kill simply for the joy of killing. The species of the animal was unknown. Some thought that it may be a grey wolf but the animal's tracks were not like those of a grey wolf. Land owners began to increase security. They made new traps. More guards were placed over the sheep at night. Professional hunters were brought in and new rifles were purchased. They were never able to kill the creature. A couple of times a hunter was able to shoot the animal from a distance but could not bring it down. One farmer that had suffered more extensive losses than the others swore that he would kill the animal. He offered a $200 reward to anyone that killed it. One day the farmer received a note asking him to go to the farm of a new settler. The farmer did as the note said and he met the new settler. The person who had sent the note was a hard-working and religious man. "Back home in Bohemia, we had this same problem. People lose their sheep for months until someone nearby tells us of the werewolf legend. The werewolf loves to kill for fun, just to taste the blood. So we villagers did the same thing I am asking you to do. Here is my silver cross. Take it and melt it into the shape of a bullet. It is the only way a werewolf can be stopped." The farmer melted down the cross and fitted it into his own rifle. He sat with his flock to wait for the animal. He wasn't kept waiting for long. On the second night, the beast came to the flock he was guarding and began its nightly slaughter. He took aim at the animal and fired. The animal cried out a piercing scream, but it sounded more like the sound of a woman screaming than an animal. The farmer ran to check to see if he had killed it, but it was nowhere to be found. Instead, however, he found the left front foot of the beast, where the silver bullet had cleanly sliced it off. The slaughters stopped from then on. It was not until years later that the town doctor revealed on the very night of the shot he had bandaged a young woman's arm for what looked like the damage from a bullet which had taken off her entire hand and wrist. But this is how the real story goes...
Apparently, Ms. Burt was a resident of Talbot County, a rural county in southwest Georgia between Macon and Columbus. The Burt family, a wealthy and prominent family in the Talbot County community, had several children. According to the late Nancy Roberts in her book "Georgia Ghosts" published by John F. Blair publishers in 1997, there was Sarah, Mildred, Emily Isabella and Joel. Mrs. Burt was widowed by the age of thirty-seven and had inherited a nice estate from her deceased husband. Of all of her children, it appears that Emily Isabella was the one with the most problems. For one, she had inherited a lot of physical traits from her father, including dark hair and bushy eyebrows. However, she was said to have had sharp, white canine teeth that made her smile quite disturbing. In one report, Roberts claims that Emily Isabella's mother took her to a local dentist to see if the teeth could be altered in any way. He could do nothing for her. Soon afterwards, she fell ill and suffered from restless nights. The only thing that seemed to allay those sleepless nights was an elixir that contained opium. Nevertheless, the elixir was not fullproof, and some nights, Emily Isabella roamed the countryside. In addition to these strange issues, Emily Isabella had a fondness for reading, and her subject of choice was the supernatural. Given the fact that part of her mother's inheritance upon the death of her father was a vast collection of books, this affinity for reading was quite convenient. Even her mother was fond of this reading habit, as it was a way to keep an eye on Emily Isabella as she stayed home and read in the family library. Legend has it that the beau of one of Emily Isabella's sisters, a William Gorman, reported to the Burts that something was killing his sheep. Fearful that this may soon be happening to her animals, Mrs. Mildred Burt became quite concerned. On ensuing visits, Gorman would recount stories about more sheep killings and that some of his cattle were killed as well. He was concerned about the killings and decided to take action. He reported that he was going to be putting together what amounted to a posse. Their intentions were to shoot and kill whatever beast was doing the damage. Emily Isabella was unusually interested in what was going on and what events had transgressed in the hunt for this animal. On the night of the big hunt, Mildred Burt, who also had inherited more than a few guns and was a great markswoman, went out with her pistol. She apparently suspected that Emily Isabella was somehow involved with the killings and she wanted to be prepared for anything. As she was near the area, an animal lunged for her and she fired. It ran away. Interestingly enough, the next morning, it was reported that Emily Isabella was missing her left hand. After being taken to a local physician, her mother decided to send her to Paris to be treated by a doctor who specialized in lycanthropy, a disorder that made its victims think they were werewolves. While she was in Paris, the attacks stopped, and once she returned, supposedly cured, the attacks fell to a minimum. Isabella remained in Talbot County until her death in 1911. She was 70 years old and is buried in the Owens and Holmes Cemetery near Woodland. Her story has endured, but not everyone is convinced this legend is true. This story has shown up in a good many books on the supernatural and strange in Georgia. As mentioned earlier, Nancy Roberts wrote of it in her book "Georgia Ghosts." It also appears in Jim Miles' "Weird Georgia", as well as Dr. Alan Brown's "Haunted Georgia."
The werewolf is generally held as a European character, although its lore spread through the world in later times. Shape-shifters, similar to werewolves, are common in tales from all over the world, most notably amongst the Native Americans, though most of them involve animal forms other than wolves. Various methods for becoming a werewolf have been reported, one of the simplest being the removal of clothing and putting on a belt made of wolfskin, probably as a substitute for the assumption of an entire animal skin (which also is frequently described). In other cases, the body is rubbed with a magic salve. To drink rainwater out of the footprint of the animal in question or to drink from certain enchanted streams were also considered effectual modes of accomplishing metamorphosis. The 16th century Swedish writer Olaus Magnus says that the Livonian werewolves were initiated by draining a cup of specially prepared beer and repeating a set formula. Ralston in his Songs of the Russian People gives the form of incantation still familiar in Russia. In Italy, France and Germany, it was said that a man could turn into a werewolf if he, on a certain Wednesday or Friday, slept outside on a summer night with the full moon shining directly on his face. In other cases, the transformation was supposedly accomplished by Satanic allegiance for the most loathsome ends, often for the sake of sating a craving for human flesh. The phenomenon of repercussion, the power of animal metamorphosis, or of sending out a familiar, real or spiritual, as a messenger, and the supernormal powers conferred by association with such a familiar, are also attributed to the magician, male and female, all the world over; and witch superstitions are closely parallel to, if not identical with, lycanthropic beliefs, the occasional involuntary character of lycanthropy being almost the sole distinguishing feature. Werewolves have several described weaknesses, the most common being an aversion to wolfsbane (a plant that supposedly sprouted from weeds watered by the drool of Cerberus while he was brought out of Hades by Heracles). Unlike vampires, werewolves are not harmed by religious artifacts such as crucifixes and holy water. Various methods have existed for removing the werewolf form. The simplest method was the act of the enchanter (operating either on oneself or on a victim), and another was the removal of the animal belt or skin. To kneel in one spot for a hundred years, to be reproached with being a werewolf, to be struck three blows on the forehead with a knife, or to have at least three drops of blood drawn have also been mentioned as possible cures. Many European folk tales include throwing an iron object over or at the werewolf, to make it reveal its human form, naked in cases from 1859. Another vulnerability is to use a weapon of silver (bullet, knife etc). To stab a werewolf with a silver dagger, or to shoot it with a silver bullet is said to not only kill a werewolf, but to also cause it agony in the time before it dies, rather resembling being slowly burned from the inside. Silver in European folklore has long been traditionally believed to be an antidote to various maladies and mythical[citation needed] monsters. Notably, silver was believed to be a repellent against vampires (this primarily originates from its holy connotations; also, mirrors were originally polished silver, and as such, vampires allegedly cannot be seen in them because they have no soul) and it was also believed that a werewolf, in his bestial form, could only be killed by a weapon or bullet made of silver. This has given rise to the term "silver bullet", which is used to describe things that very effectively deal with one specific problem. In different traditions, silver is thought to be the metal associated with the moon and with the human soul. It is likely that these associations have contributed to the legend of the silver bullet.

During the period from 1520 to 1630 there were over 30,000 werewolf trials in France alone. Most of the people who were tried as being werewolves were poor, and came from lowlands with elevations less than 500 feet above sea level. A recent theory is that many of the werewolf accusations were a result of a fungus found in their rye crop. Rye bread was a staple for the poorer people of France, and after cold winters the rye developed the Ergot fungus. Unbeknownst to them, the fungus was a strong hallucinogenic. This theory contests that the werewolf hysteria was a result of mass hallucination since most of the accusers and the accused were poor. The wealthy staple was the more expensive wheat, which was immune to the Ergot fungus. This explains why the wealthy were immune from the werewolf hysteria. Another explanation of werewolves comes from within the human brain. Temporal lobes in the brain control sensations in the human body, and any irritation of the temporal lobes can cause hallucinations. Also, if a person has shrunken temporal lobes, they can be subject to complex partial seizures. These seizures can lead to fixed delusions. Such delusions can include a person thinking that they are a wolf. Also, a lack of nutrition or a hit on the head can cause complex partial seizures. The "magic salve" that was used by humans to transform into wolves was a strong hallucinogenic. When rubbed over the body, it is absorbed into the bloodstream and causes effects similar to LSD. A person under the salve's effect could imagine that he was anything, or anyone. One reason that people during the Medieval Times imagined themselves as werewolves, as opposed to other things, is because of the mass hysteria over werewolves during this time.
Feral. Mangy. Hungry and cursed. No wonder why the werewolf is such a irritable beast. He (or she) has had a hell of an on-screen romp full of ups and downs over the last century. More often than not, we can cite the successful werewolf films by heart; the go-to titles being, arguably, The Wolf Man, An American Werewolf in London and The Howling - that last title spawning a series of abysmal sequels that seemingly set out to destroy the werewolf sub-genre with an unwavering obsession equal to that of Calvin Lockheart's in The Beast Must Die. Nevertheless, the werewolf has endured. If Frankenstein's creation was the misunderstood monster, then the werewolf is without a doubt the misrepresented one. In the hands of an incapable filmmaker, lycanthropy can become a campy joke, no scarier than a retriever playing a game of fetch. In the eyes of special effects artists lacking vision, these hirsute creatures - and the transformation they undergo - can become silly and shaggy behemoths with claws. But some storytellers have gotten it right, recognizing the inner conflict of the afflicted man at the heart of their tale, furthermore the beast that lurks within, and used that to drive themes of adolescence, friendship, sexuality, disease or, of course, the fear of death.

Dupa ce a incercat de mai multe ori sa sune, Marilyn a raspuns in sfarsit la telefon."A, nu, ma simt bine..." i-a spus Marilyn. Cu toate acestea, vocea ei nu i s-a parut "in regula". Totusi, cine face aceste afirmatii? "Fostul agent special" care a scris acest raport, si al carui nume este sters, recunoaste ca nu stie care a fost sursa informatiilor si nu poate sa garanteze pentru autenticitatea acestora. Werewolves have been known by various names - shapeshifters, succubi, demons...and loup garoux. An outgrouth of mythology as old as civilization itself, tales of werewolves and shapeshifters have cropped up around dissapearances, murders, violence and death throughout history. "They express fear of the unknown," notes director Katja von Garnier, "but more than that, they express fear of the unknown within the known - the hidden predator living undetected amongst humanity, the hidden animal within the man."
"I think that everybody is fascinated by them," says cast-member Bryan Dick. "I don't think there's a person who has not watched a werewolf film or been interested in the fantasy of shapeshifters and that kind of moonlight world. It's very appealing and it's also very sexy."
The story of "Blood and Chocolate" explores the ideea through a star-crossed love story. "It really is about these people just trying to fit in and survive in the modern civilized world", says Agnes Bruckner. "Hopefully, we haven't done an injustice to the myths as they stand, we've just reinvented them and given them a new twist."

WHO OWNES MY HEART

Miley Cyrus released an official video for her single "Who Owns My Heart" in October of 2010. The song is a cut off of Cyrus' 2010 album Can't Be Tamed.

Within days of its release, the video had come under fire from the Parents Television Council for being too racy. Parents Television Council President Tim Winter was quoted by the celebrity gossip blog TMZ.com as saying, "It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one." Who Owns My Heart Video" "sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point." Whether this is envelope-pushing or not depends on your frame of reference. Compared to most other dance-pop videos, it's standard fare, if not downright tame. Compared to the videos being put out by other underage girls and/or stars who still have sitcoms running on the Disney Channel, it's provocative. Hollywood Life, the site run by former tabloid queen Bonnie Fuller, recently ran a story allegedly quoting a "Cyrus family insider" as saying, "We're concerned for her. She's 17 years old, but is the one who makes the money and calls all the shots in the family. No one tells Miley no." Fuller wrote a separate editorial noting how Cyrus has been seen partying into the wee hours in clubs she can't legally enter, and addressed Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus directly: "Your daughter may be a big star but she's still your little girl and that means you need to be her parents." So far, Cyrus' image change has been a bust, at least when it comes to affecting her music career. Of course, she's only one smash single away from having a chart comeback and having her accelerated maturation perceived as a brilliant career move. The problem is, the smash single that will turn it back around for her probably isn't "Who Owns My Heart," and probably isn't anywhere else on the Can't Be Tamed album.

That’s why they’re teaming up during National Bullying Prevention Month in October to spread the word on how everyone—including teens—can play a part in making cyberspace a safer place. Sponsored by PACER Center, National Bullying Prevention Month encourages communities, families, schools and students to get involved in bullying prevention by using resources at PACER.org. Lovato, Facebook and PACER especially encourage teens to join the cause and show that they care—because no one deserves to be bullied on or offline. Thank's for checking out PACER's Teens Against Bullying Web site and for finding out why I have chosen to be a part of this important cause. I was bullied in middle school. It got so bad I chose to leave and be homeschooled. Many people think of bullying as getting beat up in school, but it is so much more than that. For me it was all of the verbal harassment I had to deal with. People say sticks and stones may break your bones but names can never hurt you, but that's not true. Words can hurt. They hurt me. Things were said to me that I still haven't forgotten.
I was lucky, though. I had really supportive parents, other education options, and I had outlets like music and acting. I actually used all of the bullying as a motivation to succeed. I think I have actualy become a stronger person because of it.
But I know that many kids and teens do not have all of the support and outlets I have, and that's why I want to do something about bullying. I want to make it stop. And I've teamed up with PACER and TeensAgainsBullying.org as their spokesperson to create a movement. A bullying prevention movement made up of kids and parents and teachers everywhere who want it to stop, too.
We're going to use the information on this website (http://www.pacerteensagainstbullying.org/) to help people learn how to address bullying. And we're trying to get as many schools as possible to join us in October for National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.

For nearly two decades now, Shakira has managed to carve out her own, rather indefinable niche in pop music. On Wednesday (September 29), she premiered the video for "Loca," the first single off her upcoming Sale el Sol album (due October 19). And while it's not exactly a unique artistic endeavor — it echoes sentiments already expressed by the likes of Matt & Kim (in their "Lessons Learned" clip) and Erykah Badu (in her firestormy "Window Seat" vid) — it's still undoubtedly her ... mostly because none of her high-gloss pop contemporaries would ever dare attempt something like it. Shot run-and-gun style in Barcelona, "Loca" follows Shakira and her crew — which includes a few cameramen and, somewhat improbably, British rapper Dizzee Rascal — on a madcap adventure that includes roller-skating, public wardrobe changes, motorcycle cruising, an illicit hop in a public fountain (a move that landed her in hot, uh, water with local authorities) and, of course, plenty of hip shaking. It's a decidedly guerrilla endeavor that appears to have been done on a budget hovering around zero (aside from a performance scene, the entire thing appears to have been shot on handheld cameras). Shakira has plenty to lose. Her albums are big events, things that resonate across continents, and it would be rather easy (or, at least, expected) for her to come out of the gate with a big-budget, glossy pop video. Instead, we get "Loca," which is none of those things, and is probably better because of that. And though it features some near-nudity and some illegal activity, the thing that resonates most about the "Loca" video is that none of that bad behavior is played up for shock value. Instead, it all helps match the kinetic, herky-jerky energy of the song itself. "Loca" is the rare video that doesn't attempt to outshine the song it's based on. Instead, it complements it. This is a very lively song, after all, so what better way to capture that than with a very lively video? There's a calculated madness to the "Loca" video, a vibrant, unchained energy, the kind very few artists can conjure up, no matter how big the budget. And, come to think of it, that's a pretty accurate way of summing up Shakira's entire career.

Filmul a depasit bugetul inca dinainte de inceperea filmarilor.(...) Directorul Fox, Peter Levathes, stia sigur ca o vedeta precum Marilyn avea sa provoace multe probleme pe platou din cauza starii ei de sanatate, asa ca l-a numit pe Greenson responsabil cu Marilyn - el trebuia sa se asigure ca Marilyn venea la filmari in fiecare zi.(...) Marilyn si-a ales ce regizor a vrut, pe George Cukor, si ce protagonist a vrut, pe Dean Martin. Jean Louis i-a creat costumele. Machiorul ei personal, Whitey Snyder, era prezent pe platou, dar si Sydney Guilaroff de la MGM, care i-a creat o coafura noua de un blond platinat. Insa Marilyn nu avea forta sa se lupte cu problemele care au tinut-o departe de platou 16 zile din cele 17 de la inceputul filmarilor. Marilyn avea sa dea vina pe o gramada de boli ca sa-si justifice absenta: sinuzita, insomnie, raceala, pierderea vocii, extenuare. Studioul a angajat trei doctori care sa fie prezenti pe platou in fiecare zi: un ORL-ist, un internist si un psihiatru. E greu sa urmarim DVD-ul cu documentarul "Marilyn:Something's Got to Give", care contine o privire cuprinzatoare asupra productiei acestui film; e si mai greu, daca ne gandim ce viata si cariera ar fi avut Marilyn daca nu ar fi fost atat de putin increzatoare in sine, daca nu ar fi fost doborata de nesigurante, relatii nefericite, paranoia si deznadejde. Totusi, in mod remarcabil, Cukor a reusit sa surprinda pe film cateva secvente de exceptie, in care Marilyn era, fara exagerare, mai frumoasa, mai atragatoare, mai Marilyn Monroe ca niciodata. Cum a reusit sa arate atat de bine in film, in ciuda cosmarului permanent din viata ei, a ramas un mister pana in ultima zi a vietii ei. A slabit 8 kilograme inainte de probele pentru machiaj si costume si arata extraordinar de tanara si in forma foarte buna. Bineinteles, nu mai lua medicamente, ceea ce ar putea sa explice scaderea in greutate. Silueta subtire i-a dat mult mai multa incredere in ea.(...) Pasea cu o eleganta regasita, era minunat sa o privesti.(...) Dupa aproximativ 40 de ani de cand Fox a concediat-o pe Marilyn si a anulat productia, studioul a salvat 37 de minute de film si a introdus o parte din ele in documentar, care a rulat ca documentar special de televiziune. "Maica-sa era nebuna, biata Marilyn era nebuna", avea sa spuna Cukor dupa aceea. Dupa ce si-a dat seama ca o sa aiba probleme cu el, Marilyn a incercat sa-l aduca pe platou pe scenaristul Nunnally Johnson ca sa-l inlocuiasca, insa nu a avut succes. Johnson isi amintea:"Marilyn era nevrozata. Chiar daca ar fi fost suficienti de zapaciti incat sa ma lase sa-i iau locul lui George, negresit s-ar fi intamplat ceva si Marilyn m-ar fi urat la fel de tare si pe mine. Marilyn continua sa se indeparteze din ce in ce mai tare de realitate."(...) Cu siguranta, lui Marilyn nu-i statea mintea la filmul "Something's Got to Give", chiar daca isi dadea toata silinta. De cand petrecuse acel weekend cu presedintele, in Palm Springs, Marilyn Monroe parea ca avea o singura preocupare:presedintele John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Rupert Allan isi aminteste:"Stiu doar ca parea obsedata de presedinte. Nu era foarte clar ce se intampla intre ei, insa stiu c nu se intampla cine stie ce. Din comportamentul ei mi-am dat seama ca-si dorea mai mult." Un agent al Serviciilor Secrete care a lucrat in timpul administratiei Kennedy adauga:"Il suna sau, mai bine zis, incerca sa il sune. Foarte des. Dorea sa-l vada. S-a exprimat foarte clar. Toata lumea stia lucrul asta." Nu este greu sa intelegem de ce s-a atasat Marilyn atat de repede de presedintele Kennedy. Bolnava de schizofrenie paranoida cronica, suferea de multe ori de accese de paranoia. Se stie ca era filata de FBI. Este posibil ca si alte servicii sa o fi urmarit in acea perioada, strict din cauza legaturii ei cu Arthur Miller. Bineinteles ca avea motive sa fie ingrijorata. Poate ca se gandea ca a gasit in JFK persoana cea mai potrivita sa o protejeze. La urma urmei, el avea sub control departamentul de aparare al SUA.(...) Fara indoila, era cel mai puternic om pe care-l cunoscuse vreodata.(...) Nu stapanea o camera, stapanea lumea.(...) Pentru a intelege obsesia lui Marilyn pentru JFK, trebuie amintit si faptul ca era o femeie careia, mai presus de orice, i iera frica sa ramana singura. Din nefericire, circumstantele vietii ei o obligau sa fie singura in marea majoritate a timpului.(...) A luat decizii cand era singura, ingrozita de ceea ce avea sa i se intample, de ce cosmar avea sa mai traiasca odata cu venirea diminetii.(...) Din nefericire, Marilyn era ultima grija a presedintelui. Nici macar nu-i mai raspundea la telefoanele pe care le dadea la Casa Alba. George Jacobs, prietenul si valetul lui Frank Sinatra, a participat la multe conversatii cu JFK, pe vremea cand presedintele se simtea bine la Sinatra acasa."Am petrecut suficient timp in compania lui ca sa-mi dau seama ca, pentru el, nici o femeie nu era sacra, nici macar sotia lui. Era ca Alexandru cel Mare, simtea nevoia sa cucereasca lumea. Pentru el, Marilyn a fost inca o cucerire, inca un trofeu - poate Marele Alb de la Hollywood, dar tot un numar, nu o poveste de dragoste."(...) "Jack o terminase cu ea dupa Palm Springs", spune senatorul George Smathers.(...) Jackie era obisnuita cu infidelitatile lui Kennedy, insa aceasta a deranjat-o. Stia din auzite ca Marilyn era o femeie cu probleme. Nu era furioasa, era degustata.(...) Eram surprins. Pat Kennedy Lawford nu mai avusese parte de o vizita neanuntata alui Marilyn, insa la 8 aprilie, la vre-o doua saptamani dupa weekendul lui Marilyn cu fratele ei, Jack, a aparut acasa la Pat pe neasteptate. (...) Dupa spusele unei prietene a lui Pat, care era acolo in ziua respectiva, Marilyn "a dat buzna pe plaja" in timp ce Pat juca volei, sarind si topaind fara coechipier.(...) Dupa cateva minute in care au schimbat amabilitati, timp in care Pat a fost neobisnuit de tacuta, Marilyn a inceput sa vorbeasca despre Jack, fratele ei. I-a spus ca avusese dreptate si ca fratele ei avea o prestanta impunatoare. Pat se uita fix la Marilyn.(...) Ceea ce stim despre conversatie, pentru ca Pat a pomenit despre asta, este ca Marilyn a intrebat-o pana la urma pe Pat care este numarul direct al presedintelui, la Casa Alba. Pat nu a vrut sa i-l dea, explicandu-i ca singurul numar de la Washington al fratelui ei pe care-l avea era numarul sau personal sau, cum s-a exprimat ea, "numarul de telefon al familiei". Marilyn a abandonat subiectul de cateva ori, insa l-a reluat. Obsesia ei pentru numarul de telefon al lui Jack a deranjat-o pe Pat, care mai tarziu avea sa marturiseasca:"Nu o mai vazusem niciodata pe Marilyn atat de incordata si innebunita."(...) Nu se stie daca Marilyn a folosit vreodata numarul pe care l-a obtinut de la Pat Kennedy; in acea perioada s-a intamplat ceva care sugereaza ca i-a telefonat lui JFK pe numarul respectiv, pentru ca in primavara lui 1962 Kennedy l-a insarcinat pe procurorul general, Bobby Kennedy, sa-i spuna lui Marilyn sa nu mai sune la Casa Alba. De asemenea, lui Bobby i s-a spus sa-i comunice lui Marilyn ca relatia cu el (sau ceea ce credea ea ca se intamplase intre ei) se terminase si ca Marilyn trebuia sa-si vada de treburile ei.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is a 2010 computer-animated fantasy film loosely based on the first three books (The Capture, The Journey, and The Rescue) of the series Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky. Zack Snyder directed the film, with Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Ryan Kwanten, Emily Barclay, Anthony LaPaglia, and David Wenham voicing the characters. Warner Bros. distributed the film with the Australian companies Village Roadshow Pictures and Animal Logic, the latter having produced visual effects for Happy Feet. Soren is a young adventurous Barn Owl who loves hearing stories from his father Noctus about the legend of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, a legendary alliance of owls that are sworn to protect the Kingdom of Ga'Hoole. His younger sister Eglantine is enamoured by these stories, but their older brother, Kludd is jealous of the attention Soren receives. One night, while branching, Soren and Kludd accidentally fall out of their tree. They are attacked by a tasmanian devil and then captured by owls working for the evil Metalbeak and his mate Nyra. Incredibly, Soren and group of fearless young owls manage to stage a daring escape. With the future of the owl kingdoms hanging in the balance, brave Soren and his newfound friends travel to the ends of the earth in hopes of finding the mythical Great Tree and convincing the Guardians of Ga'Hoole to help defeat the Pure Ones once and for all. Legend of the Guardians took in $4.5 million on opening day, ranking third at the box office. It ranked second on Saturday, earning $6 million, and was #1 on Sunday, earning $4.6 million.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released a game based on the movie, as well as including some elements from the books.

Paris Hilton breaks out her acting chops as she joins Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles on an episode of Supernatural.

The 28-year-old hotel heiress plays herself in the episode and allegedly kidnaps someone.

Sam and Dean are reunited and on the hunt again. They reach a small town and investgate a string of very strange murders. A man who has found James Dean's car "Little Bastard" is found dead as if he has been involved in a major car crash. Another man is murdered by someone who looks just like Abraham Lincoln. Suspecting that the murders are the work of famous ghosts, the boys do research at the local wax museum where Sam is attacked by what seems to be the ghost of Mahatma Gandhi. Shortly afterwards, two girls report to the police that their friend was kidnapped by Paris Hilton, which leaves the brothers speechless. After finding peculiar seeds in the victims' stomachs, they break into the museum's construction area where they do find Paris Hilton — who is in fact a Leshii, a pagan god in disguise, trying to settle down after its old home, a deep forest in Eastern Europe, has been cut down. By touching their possessions, the god can turn itself into famous people and kill their fans in order to feed on their blood. While fighting the Leshi, Dean references Padalecki's and Hilton's role in House of Wax, saying he has never seen it. In the end, Sam kills "Paris Hilton" with an iron axe.

Jennifer's Body is a 2009 black comedy horror film written by Diablo Cody and directed by Karyn Kusama. The film stars Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody and Johnny Simmons. Fox portrays a newly-possessed teenage serial killer specializing in killing her male classmates as her best friend strives to stop her. The film premiered at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in the United States and Canada on September 18, 2009. The title is a reference to the song of the same name by Hole on their album Live Through This. As a tie-in to the film, Boom! Studios produced a Jennifer's Body graphic novel, released in August 2009.

Needy and popular flag girl Jennifer Check have been best friends since childhood, despite having little in common. One night, Jennifer takes Needy to a local dive bar to attend a concert by indie rock band Low Shoulder. A suspicious fire engulfs the bar, killing several spectators, and Jenifer is taken by the band despite Needy's attempts to stop her. Later that evening, Jennifer, covered in blood, appears in Needy's kitchen and proceeds to eat food from the refrigerator. Now possessed by a demon and, subsequently altered into a succubus, Jennifer sets out on a bloody rampage in which she devours boys, and it is up to Needy to stop her. In sort of a reversal aspect of how puberty changes a girl's life, Jennifer must consume the blood of others once a month or she becomes weak and plain-looking.

Megan Fox was in negotiations to star as Jennifer Check since the film was announced in 2007, and was officially cast in October 2007. Fox said the reason she agreed to the role was her love for the script. "I think what I loved about the movie is it’s so unapologetic and how completely inappropriate it is at all times," she said. "That was my favorite part about the script and about the character. It’s fun to be able to say the shit that she got to say and get away with it and how people find it charming." She said despite this aspect of the business being intimidating, she enjoyed portraying the character. "I wasn’t really sure what I was doing," said Fox. "I was just trying to have fun with it and I felt like I was able to make fun of my own image as to how some people might perceive Megan Fox to be. I was just sort of flying freely and I hope some of it works".
Handling the film's special effects were KNB EFX GROUP and the Moving Picture Company (MPC). For Jennifer's demonic form, the creators used different techniques. "I actually wasn't in [the makeup chair] that much because they created an entire head. They did a live cast of me from the shoulders up. They created me and then put the teeth in," stated Fox. "To save my face, they had a photo double that would come in and do most of the crazy monster makeup - they would do that on her. So it would go from me, then in post-production it would somehow go to her and the fake head. They would mix them all together." For "the vomit scene" where Jennifer has just arrived at Needy's house after being murdered and inhabited by a demon, Fox said the liquid she was given to spit out "was actually ...chocolate syrup initially". "We did a few takes where I would just do this scream and sort of puke Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Scratch the Hershey’s because I don’t want to endorse that or anything," she stated. "And then, special effects did a rig that clamps onto my ear and you revisit it in the pool scene..." Fox said it "clips on. It goes around the back of my ear and then I bite down on it on the side of my face, like this, and it projectiles. It’s a tube..."

The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 29, 2009 in the USA and Canada. In Australia, the DVD and Blu-ray was released on May 18, 2010.

As a tie-in to the film, Boom! Studios produced a Jennifer's Body graphic novel. The novel expands on the film's universe and Jennifer's murders of the boys. It was written by Black Metal's Rick Spears, with the first nine pages illustrated by Jim Mahfood (Clerks). Two covers, in Fox's likeness, were designed; one for the direct market by Eric Jones (available only in comic specialty stores), and the other by Frank Cho for the mass market focusing more on "hellish Jennifer stories" with art by Mahfood, Hack/Slash's Tim Seely, DMZ's Nikki Cook, and Popgun's Ming Doyle. The novel was released in August 2009.

The novel features less of Jennifer than the film, but does capture her "going in for the kill" several times. It focuses heavily on following her soon-to-be victims and provides information on their personalities not elaborated on in the film so that readers can better conclude whether the boys deserved to be murdered. The novel consists of four chapters, with a prologue and an epilogue, with art provided for each by different artists. Each one follows a different boy and what is happening in his life just before Jennifer kills him. On creating the story, Spears stated, "The best part for me as a writer was to show some events from the movie from a different point of view, sort of like Rashomon for you Kurosawa fans. And with comics we can get into the character’s heads in a way that works well in comics and novels more so than in film." He stated, "...I was using the medium to change what we really know about these characters and twist around what we see in the movies. All the academics aside, it’s also very funny and gore splattered."

A music video in companion of Mitchel Musso and Tiffani Thornton's duet track "Let It Go" has been released. It includes scenes from Disney Channel's TV movie "Hatching Pete". The video centers on Jason Dolley's Pete Ivey dressing in a chicken costume as his high school mascot. Appearing during a basketball game, the chicken soon becomes the main attraction at the school. A theme song for "Hatching Pete", "Let It Go" is written by a team consisting of Ali Dee Theodore, Alana Da Fonsecca, Vinny Alfieri, Julian Davis and Sarai Howard. Its music video meanwhile is directed by Alex Kalsey and Max Gutierrez.

Aside from the news of "Let It Go" music video, Mitchel Musso will drop his debut studio album "Mitchel Musso" across America on June 2. As for Tiffany Thornton, she hasn't been heard to work on a studio album. Instead, she is busy filming Disney Channel's TV series "Sonny with a Chance" with Demi Lovato.

Desi Marilyn il intalnise in anii '50, cand era senator, nu avusese ocazia sa vorbeasca mai pe indelete cu el. Dupa ce il cunoscuse pe Bobby, era foarte dornica sa-l cunoasca si pe fratele lui, Jack. Nu avea nici o proiectie romantica in privinta lui JFK. Cel putin, nu inca.(...) In urmatoarele 10 minute, Milt Ebbins a ajutat-o pe Marilyn sa se imbrace cu "cea mai stramta rochie pe care am vazut-o in viata mea pe o femeie. Nu puteam s-o trec peste soldurile ei. Desigur, caracteristic pentru Marilyn, nu purta lenjerie intima. Actrita Arlene Dahl, casatorita cu Fernando Lamas si mama actorului Lorenzo Lamas, se afla si ea la petrecere. "Marilyn si-a facut aparitia cu agentul ei si totul s-a oprit, toata lumea a inmarmurit. N-am sa uit niciodata. Era fantastic, nu mai vazusem pe nimeni, pana atunci, care sa faca asa ceva. Presedintele s-a intors si a privit-o si a fost limpede ca s-a simtit atras de ea. JFK a fost vrajit pe loc de prezenta lui Marilyn, in acea noapte, la New York. Acest lucru nu este deloc surprinzator. Inainte sa plece, a rugat-o sa-i dea numarul de telefon. Desigur, ea s-a conformat. A sunat-o chiar a doua zi, sa-i faca o propunere. I-a explicat ca pe 24 martie va fi in Palm Springs. Urma sa stea la prietenul lui si, din cate intelesese, si al ei - Frank Sinatra. Si desigur, a mai adaugat, parca intamplator:"Jackie nu o sa vina." (...) Toti cei care-l cunosteau pe Bobby Kennedy stiau despre el un lucru; era hotarat sa desfiinteze crima organizata.(...) Cu toate acestea, in februarie 1962, cercetarile sale despre crima organizata se incheiasera, iar Departamentul de Justitie intocmise deja un raport cu privire la ele. A instalat linii telefonice noi pentru Serviciile Secrete si a construit un eliport. Cu toate astea, Sinatra a avut parte de o surpriza foarte neplacuta. Bobby i-a spus fratelui sau Jack ca, din cauza legaturilor lui Frank cu mafia, era exclus ca presedintele SUA sa innopteze in casa lui. JFK s-a conformat.(...)"Presedintelui Kennedy ii placea sa traiasca la limita si sa-si asume riscuri," a remarcat Lawrence Newman, un agent al Serviciilor Secrete iesit la pensie, "si cred ca el traia la limita unor probleme intunecate si periculoase."(...) La 24 martie 1962, intr-o sambata dimineata, Marilyn s-a pregatit pentru intalnirea ei cu destinul prezidential. Din cauza ca, in acea dimineata, la ea acasa nu avea apa, Marilyn a trebuit sa dea o fuga pana la casa dr Greenson ca sa se spele pe cap. Apoi s-a intors la ea acasa si s-a imbracat. Intre timp, Peter Lawford facea ture in camera ei de zi, asteptand sa fie gata, ca sa o poata duce in desert.(...) In sfarsit, Marilyn a aparut din baie, purtand o peruca neagra peste prul proaspat spalat si aranjat. Lawford si Monroe s-au imbarcat apoi in calatoria de doua ore catre Palm Springs.(...) Philip Watson, fostul preceptor din Los Angeles, a cunoscut-o pe Marilyn in timpul weekendului cu Kennedy in Palm Springs, iar el spune ca parea destul de calma si neatenta si purta "un fel de rochie". In continuare, isi aminteste ca "era o gramada de lume langa piscina, iar unii tot intrau si ieseau din casa in stil spaniol. Marilyn si presedintele erau si ei acolo si in mod clar erau impreuna. Imi era limpede ca se simteau bine." Philip adauga;"Bineinteles, Marilyn bause destul de mult. Aerul intim dintre ei era evident pentru toata lumea si era clar ca-si vor petrece noaptea impreuna."(...) Marilyn si-a petrecut doua nopti cu presedintele Kennedy. Nu se stie daca au avut relatii intime in vreuna dintre aceste nopti, cu atat mai putin in amandoua. Putem sa presupunem ca au avut relati intime, totusi, dar doar pentru ca JFK era obisnuit sa aiba relatii intime cu multe femei frumoase, iar Marilyn se afla, fara indoiala, pe primul loc in lista celor mai dorite femei, mai ales in 1962. De asemenea, si lui Marilyn i s-a parut greu sa-l refuze pe presedinte. Era voinic, puternic si aratos. Si, in plus, era presedinte.(...) Insa, dupa cum se va vedea, aceasta intalnire avea sa fieprima si ultima intalnire a lui Marilyn cu Jack Kennedy."Chiar era sfarsitul", isi amintea Ralph Roberts multi ani mai tarziu. "Mi-a spus foarte clar ca au fost impreuna doar in acel weekend si ca a fost singurul weekend. Abea dupa multi ani am inceput sa aud zvonuri care infirmau spusele lui Marilyn, dar nu le-am crezut, pentru ca Marilyn a fost foarte exacta cand mi-a spus ce s-a intamplat." Intr-adevar, conform lui Roberts, si unui numar de surse credibile, printre care si agentii de la Serviciile Secrete, a caror sarcina era sa-l urmareasca pe presedinte, acel weekend a fost singurul petrecut impreuna de vedeta de cinema si de presedintele SUA. Unul dintre agenti, sub protectia anonimatului, a spus urmatoarele:" Haideti sa zicem asa:daca ar fi fost vorba de o aventura, am fi aflat despre asta. Nu a fost nici o aventura. Imi pare rau. Pur si simplu, nu a fost. A fost un weekend, atata tot." Alt agent completeaza:" In acea perioada, stiam toti despre weekend. Abea dupa ce ea si presedintele au murit, oamenii au inceput sa raspandeasca zvonuri despre o aventura. Credeti-ma, nimeni nu vorbea despre o aventura in 1962. Ce stiam era ca JFK si Marilyn au intretinut relatii intime in casa lui Bing Crosby, asta fusese tot. Nu consideram ca era ceva nemaiintalnit. Avea relatii intime cu multe femei. Privind in urma, pot spune ca Marilyn a fost una dintre nenumaratele femei cu care JFK a avut de-a face si nu era chiar asa de deosebita. Daca s-au intamplat mai multe intre ei, au reusit cumva sa ne ascunda asta, insa nu cred ca poti sa ascunzi asa ceva de Serviciile Secrete."(...) Cu toate acestea, nu exista dovezi credibile care sa sprijine ideea ca au avut o aventura de lunga durata. Orice am spune in plus despre asta ar fi doar fabulatiile unei imaginatii bogate.

Supernatural is an American drama and horror television series created by Eric Kripke, which debuted on September 13, 2005 on The WB, and is now part of The CW's lineup. Starring Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, the series follows the brothers as they hunt demons and other figures of the paranormal. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision. The series, which is filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, was in development for nearly ten years, as creator Kripke spent several years unsuccessfully pitching it as a series. The pilot was viewed by an estimated 5.69 million viewers, and the ratings of the first four episodes prompted The WB to pick up the series for a full season of 22 episodes. Originally, Kripke planned the series for three seasons, but later expanded it to five. Kripke has confirmed that he will not be returning as showrunner; however, he will still remain as an executive producer. Sera Gamble, replacing Kripke as showrunner, has stated that the sixth season will focus on the brothers' relationship.

Before bringing Supernatural to television, creator Eric Kripke had been developing the series for nearly ten years, having been fascinated with urban legends since he was a child. Although he had envisioned Supernatural as a movie, he spent years unsuccessfully pitching it as a series. He decided to have the brothers be from Lawrence, Kansas, due to its closeness to Stull Cemetery, a location famous for its urban legends. He originally intended for the car to be a '65 Mustang, but his neighbor convinced him to change it to a '67 Impala, since "you can put a body in the trunk" and because "You want a car that, when people stop next to it at the lights, they lock their doors." The tone of Supernatural was heavily influenced by films such as Poltergeist—having the horror happen in a family setting rather than remote location—and Evil Dead 2 and An American Werewolf In London—having bits of comedy mixed in. Other influences include The Two Sisters and Asian horror films The Eye, Ju-on, and Ring.
According to creator Eric Kripke, the show originally was intended to focus on the weekly monsters, with Sam and Dean Winchester merely being "an engine to get us in and out of different horror movies every week". His sole desire was to merely "scare the crap out of people". However, a few episodes in, Kripke and executive producer Bob Singer noticed the onscreen chemistry between Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. This revelation caused them to change the series to focus more on the brothers than the monsters, basing the weekly monster around the storyline they wanted for the Winchesters. Unlike shows with "endless mythology" like Lost, Kripke prefers to keep Supernatural's mythology simpler, saying, "It's so hard to go season after season after season with a mystery and then provide an answer that's going to be satisfying." He prefers to have the series' structure like that of the earlier X-Files episodes, having mythology-based episodes spread through many self-enclosed episodes—Supernatural usually having three self-enclosed episodes followed by a mythology episode. With this format, viewers do not have to have previous knowledge of the mythology in order to watch the series, being able to "join the party at any time". Rather than having the series debut on television, The WB instead made the pilot episode available for online streaming through Yahoo! a week before it was set to premiere on the network as part of a promotional scheme. Following the transition to The CW, Supernatural episodes were added to Apple's iTunes Store starting in December 2006, being one of the first CW series to be made available for sale online. Supernatural has a vast amount of merchandise available, including calendars, t-shirts, shot glasses, and posters. The company also plans on developing 12-inch figures. Inkworks has released trading cards for the show, some cards featuring actors' autographs and swatches from actual costumes used on the series.

"Get Back" is a song performed by American actress, singer and songwriter Demi Lovato. It is the first single from her debut album, Don't Forget. The song was released on August 12, 2008 in the United States, and February 3, 2009 in Australia. On "In Tune With Demi Lovato", a short, two-part special that aired on the Disney Channel, Demi Lovato had stated "there's enough mean songs, there's enough heartbroken songs" and that she wanted to write a song about "getting back together with someone". She had called it a "fun" and "upbeat" song, that she "loves to sing". The video premiered on MTV Brazil in October 21, 2008 (the same day as the album's release there). The video consists of Lovato and her band performing "Get Back" on top of an abandoned building in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn using Manhattan Bridge as a backdrop.

"I Like It" is taken from Enrique Iglesias first bilingual studio album, Euphoria. It was produced by RedOne and interpolates Lionel Richie’s 1983 classic "All Night Long (All Night)" as well as featuring American rapper Pitbull and was released on May 3, 2010. The song will also be included on the official soundtrack to MTV reality series Jersey Shore. A version of the song without Pitbull is also found on the international version of Euphoria. The song reached number one on the Canadian Hot 100 and has became a top-ten hit in a number of countries, including Australia, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, where it reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Enrique's first solo top five hit in nearly eight years, the last being 2001's "Hero", which peaked at number three. I Like It is also the official song of Airtel 2010 Champions League cricket tournament held in South Africa and Enrique also perform this song I Like It &Be With You in the opening ceremony of Airtel Champions League 2010.
The song received a positive review from Digital Spy's music editor Robert Copsey which gave 3 stars (out of 5) and say that "The verses may feature enough Auto-Tune to make Ke$ha feel vocally exposed, and the Eurodisco production courtesy of RedOne may have a hint of the Cascada to it, but it's the cheesy lyrics that ensure this stays an unmistakably Enrique affair". The music video was premiered on May 19, 2010 at The Sun's website. As of 16th September 2010 the video has been viewed by over 30 million viewers on YouTube.

STEP UP 3D

It was also the second movie to feature the 7.1 surround sound audio format, the first of which was Toy Story 3. Several earlier So You Think You Can Dance finalists also appear in supporting parts.

Step Up 3D is the film soundtrack album from the motion picture Step Up 3D. The album was released on 27 July 2010. Akon has released a music video for the remix version of his single "Beautiful" with Mexican singer Dulce Maria, who also lends her vocals on the hook, making a cameo appearance. Beside appearing alongside Dulce, Akon is also captured surrounded by several other beautiful women. "Beautiful" is one of the songs appearing in Akon's third studio effort "Freedom". Its original version has come out in January with Colby O'Donis and Kardinal Offishall being featured on the lines. Akon recorded a Latin American version of the clip, featuring the ex-RBD singer Dulce María. Some parts of the song were sung in Spanish.

Here We Go Again is the lead single by American singer/songwriter and actress Demi Lovato, from her sophomore album, ‘Here We Go Again’. It debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 108,000 copies in its first week. Lovato stated that the new album is "going to have a different sound." In contrast to the rock influences of her debut album, Don't Forget, this album will incorporate more "'John Mayer-ish' type of songs". Demi also expressed that her previous album had more of a Jonas Brothers sound, as they helped co-write it. She wanted to make this album more her. She worked with her musical inspirations John Mayer, Jon McLaughlin, and William Beckett while writing the album. "Here We Go Again" is the first single from the album. It was released as a digital download on June 23, 2009. The song peaked #15 on the Billboard Charts and it has been rumoured to be the second single from Here We Go Again in the UK.

Love Dealer is the third single of Esmée Denters from her debut album Outta Here. The song was written by Esmée Denters, Justin Timberlake and Stargate in 2009. Stargate produced the song, together with Justin Timberlake who also provided additional vocals. Another version of the song features vocals by Jay Sean, is set to be released. It is her first official single in the US. The song was released in an attempt to help her break the US market with the help of Justin Timberlake. As of yet the song has failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. The video was filmed in Los Angeles and was directed by The Malloys. Both Denters and Timberlake will appear in the music video which was filmed on March 18, 2010.

Fear Itself was a horror/suspense anthology television series shot in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with some additional shooting in the city of St. Albert and the town of Devon, Alberta. It began airing on June 5, 2008 on NBC. Its title is derived from the famous Franklin D. Roosevelt quote "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." The anthology was borne out of Masters of Horror and shares several of the same creative elements: self-contained horror/thriller stories directed by the biggest horror directors working in features today; both shows were created by Mick Garris and both shows are produced by Industry Entertainment's Andrew Deane, Adam Goldworm and Ben Browning. Stuart Gordon, Brad Anderson, John Landis and Rob Schmidt all directed at least one episode of each series. The complete series was released on DVD on September 15, 2009.

What you need to know about Katy Perry's new video: There is no girl-on-girl action this time around, and Katy is clearly a huge fan of sweets. Yes, the video for Perry's 'California Gurls' (currently the number one song in the country) is a sugary wonderland full of militant gummy bears, numerous wardrobe changes of edible clothing and Snoop Dogg, who likely showed up because someone assured him there'd be dancing candy. What all this has to do with the "golden coast," as Perry calls it, is beyond us, but it sure is fun to look at (kind of like the Lisa Frank back-to-school section of your local Walmart, only sexier). And if you're still on the fence over whether to press play or not, the video climaxes with Perry shooting whipped cream out of her chest.

On first glance, Charice looks like any other teenager: pretty, petite and filled with non stop energy. But when the sweet-faced 17-year old opens her mouth to sing – with a profound, rich and soaring voice from every inch of her body, the audience quite literally gasps. Born and raised in the Philippines, Charice’s talent was discovered at age 4 when her mother, also a singer, noticed her daughter’s loud, rather enthusiastic version of “Happy Birthday” and decided to teach her proper vocal technique. By age 7, Charice was competing in local contests and belting out songs. She is said to have joined almost a hundred singing contests. In 2005, Pempengco joined Little Big Star, a talent show in the Philippines loosely patterned after American Idol. Eliminated after her first performance, she was later called back as a wildcard contender and eventually became a finalist. Although she was a consistent top scorer in the final rounds, she only finished in third place based on text voting. Pempengco made minor appearances on local television shows and commercials, but essentially had fallen off the radar after her stint at Little Big Star. It was not until 2007 that she gained worldwide recognition after an avid supporter started posting a series of her performance videos on YouTube under the username FalseVoice. These videos received millions of hits making Pempengco an internet phenomenon. Appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres Show were followed by several performances on the Oprah Winfrey Show. “You are a force to be reckoned with. That voice comes from something bigger than yourself,” raved Oprah. Enter 15-time Grammy winning producer David Foster who invited Charice to perform on his David Foster and Friends PBS Show in Las Vegas alongside such star studded Foster produced talents as Michael Bublé, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, and Josh Groban. When the “David Foster and Friends” show returned to the Mandalay Bay the following year, Charice received no less than six standing ovations. In between the two Vegas appearances, Charice went on to perform with Andrea Bocelli (“The Prayer”) in Tuscany and Celine Dion at her Madison Square Garden show in New York City.
Charice’s US debut CD is scheduled to be released on 143/Reprise Records with her single, “Pyramid” featuring labelmate Iyaz (who recently spent four weeks at #1 with his international smash hit, “Replay”). “I’m so proud of this record and feel so lucky that I had the chance to work with some of the best songwriters and producers out there. Camera de zi era atat de mica, incat incapeau in ea doar trei obiecte de mobilier. Baile erau minuscule, la fel si bucataria. Pe scurt, parea un apartament mic, foarte modest. Avea piscina si o gradina luxurianta, iar proprietatea era inconjurata de ziduri si situata la capatul unei fundaturi. Parea foarte intima. Sub usa de la intrare se afla o placa, cu inscriptia "CURSUM PERFICIO". De-a lungul vremii, unii au tradus acest moto latinesc prin "Calatoria mea se termina aici", facand aluzie la o presupusa dorinta a lui Marilyn de a se sinucide, care a facut-o sa aleaga aceasta inscriptie ca sa trimita un mesaj. Cu toate acestea, traducerea literala este "Am terminat drumul" si a fost folosita pe usile caselor europene multa vreme, ca o formula de a le ura oaspetilor bun-venit. Dr Ralph Greenson l-a inlocuit pe celalalt Ralph din viata lui Marilyn, Ralph Roberts, cu cel mai straniu personaj care a intrat vreodata in peisaj; acesta a fost inca un motiv sa fie ponegrit de biografi. Personajul respectiv era Eunice Murray, o femeie de 59 de ani, lipsita de gust, cu ochelari, cu o personalitate stearsa, care se autodeclara "asistenta medicala", dar nu avea nici un fel de pregatire in domeniu. Avea un chip sever si trasaturi dure.(...) Deoarece Eunice "se pricepea la treburile casei", a devenit insotitoarea lui Marilyn, spre marea dezamagire a cunoscutilor actritei.Uneori petrecea noaptea la ea, alteori nu. Prietenii si colegii ei considerau ca tot ceea ce facea Marilyn acasa, in timpul ei liber, ajungea imediat la urechile dr Greenson, din cauza lui Murray. Intr-adevar, dupa parerea lor, Greenson avea un spion nou in casa.(...) Cu toate acestea, in apararea lui Greenson poate fi invocata convingerea lui ca Marilyn trebuia sa fie monitorizata cat de mult. Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the fourth film in the Indiana Jones franchise, created by George Lucas and directed by Steven Spielberg. An ABC Family mini-series, Fallen will be shown on AXN. It's a story of fallen angels, nephilims and warrior angels. The episode starts with Aaron Corbett (Paul Wesley) as he narrates about Lucifer led the angels in rebellion against God and those angels where banished from Heaven and was forced to live on Earth, these angels were called the Fallen. The Fallen later on mated with mortal women, thus having an offspring called the Nephilim which is half angel, half mortal. The Warrior Angels or also known as the Powers, made it their mission to hunt the Nephilim’s because they are abomination. But there is a prophecy that a Nephilim will come and redeem the Fallen to return them to Heaven. The protagonist of the story is Aaron Corbett and his mission is to redeem the Fallen and send them back to Heaven. The Powers, an army of angels, are coming to destroy him. He will have to come in terms of who he is and accept the truth as inexplicable things keep happening around him, his abilities increase and strange people start following him.

Colbie Marie Caillat, country singer-songwriter and guitarist from Malibu, California, debuted in 2007 with Coco, which included hit singles "Bubbly", "Realize", and "The Little Things". In 2008, she recorded a duet with Jason Mraz, "Lucky", which won a Grammy. Caillat released her second album, Breakthrough, in August 2009. On December 2, 2009, Breakthrough was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 52nd Grammy Awards. She was also nominated twice for Best Pop Collaboration, for her featured vocals on Jason Mraz's "Lucky" and her background vocals and writing on Taylor Swift's Breathe, and was part of the group that won Album of the Year for her background vocals and writing on Taylor Swift's Fearless.
The song is the follow-up to her worldwide debut hit "Bubbly", and was officially released in January 2008, peaking at number twenty on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming her second Top 20 hit in the U.S. The video for "Realize" was filmed in both Toronto, Ontario and Haliburton, Ontario Canada. Most of Colbie's driving scenes are on highway 121 and highway 118, two main arteries of the Haliburton region. As explained on her 2008 summer tour with John Mayer, there is a story behind this song. Caillat, Jason Reeves, and his roommate were a close group of three friends. Colbie was unaware that Jason's roommate had a huge crush on her, and when she found out about this later, she decided to base her song on this. Jason co-wrote the song from the perspective of his friend.

De-a lungul anilor, Marilyn Monroe nu a facut asta. In perioada de un an si jumatate dupa diagnosticul pus de dr Greenson si dr Wexler, a incercat din rasputeri sa tina boala in frau. A facut asta mereu. A continuat sa lupte, chiar daca stia ca era ceva in neregula cu ea.(...) Din nefericire, dr Greenson a devenit atat de zelos in tratamentul lui Marilyn si, prin urmare, a capatat o influenta atat de mare in viata ei, incat avea sa-si piarda credibilitatea odata cu trecerea anilor. Se zvonea ca avea sa se intoarca la flmari pentru o noua pelicula produsa de Fox, "Ceva trebuie sa cedeze". Nu era incantata de scenariu, simtea ca va avea mult de lucru si nici macar nu stia daca va fi un film bun. Cu toate astea, era obligata prin contract sa mai faca inca un film pentru Fox, iar acesta era filmul respectiv. In septembrie, Marilyn i s-a alaturat lui Frank Sinatra, care-si usese oaspetii pe iahtul personal, intr-o croaziera de patru zile in insula Catalina."Clar, formau un cuplu," a spus unul dintre petrecareti."Ea se purta ca si cum ar fi fost gazda, nu unul dintre invitati. Parea binedispusa, dar se vedea limpede ca nu se simte chiar bine. Din cate am inteles, avusese probleme sa ajunga in starea respectiva. Toata lumea stia ca nu se simte bine, ca se afla sub tratament medicamentos." In acea perioada, medicul principal al lui Marilyn, care lucra cu dr Greenson, era dr Hyman Engelberg. Marilyn devenise deja experta in arta de a face rost de medicamente de la doctori diferiti, care nu stiau unul de altul, incat cei doi nu puteau sa-si dea seama ce medicamente lua. Cand cerea confidentialitatea unui doctor, Marilyn o obtinea pentru ca era celebra. Apoi isi facea un stoc de medicamente cat de mare putea, inainte ca doctorul sa refuze sa-i dea altele. Apoi cauta alt doctor. Greenson si Engelberg au incercat sa tina sub control acest obicei, insa nu au aplicat cele mai bune metode."Ideea era sa nu-i spunem niciodata nu, cand dorea o reteta," spune Hildy Greenson, sotia dr Ralph Greenson, "deoarece singurul rezultat obtinut era ca s-ar fi dus in alta parte sa faca rost de medicamentele respective, fara sa-si informeze medicii principali. De fiecare data cand dorea un medicament nou, de obicei facea rost de el." Se pare ca aceasta idee nu a dat roade. Lista de medicamente pe care le lua Marilyn, spre sfarsitul anului 1961, era cutremuratoare. Dupa ce dr Greenson si dr Wexler au diagnosticat-o cu schizofrenie paranoida cronica, Marilyn Monroe a inceput sa ia un somnifer numit torazina. Pe atunci era un medicament nou, introdus in anii '50 pentru tratamentul schizofreniei. Insa, daca-l lua, s-ar fi ingrasat, iar acest lucru nu i-a placut. Daca nu mai lua torazina, slabea rapid. Insa, in acelasi timp, isi pierdea controlul. Cnad arata in forma maxima, ca in ultimul ei film, "Something's Got to Give", acest lucru se datora faptului ca renuntase la torazina.(...) Marilyn mai lua analgezicul demerol si antidepresivele HMC si amytal, pe langa doze mari de nembutal. Timp de foarte multi ani luase nembutal ca sa doarma, deci in mod sigur se putea vorbi despre dependenta.(...) Marilyn lua si seconal si nimeni nu stia de unde facuse rost de el. Mai mult, lua si clorhidrat pentru somn, iar dr Engelberg afirma ca nici el, nici dr Greenson nu i-au prescris niciodata asa ceva. Engelberg a pretins ca a fost uimit de numarul de medicamente gasit in corpul lui Marilyn la autopsie, inclusiv clorhidrat, pe care credea ca Marilyn l-a cumparat din Mexic, in calatoria pe care a facut-o acolo chiar inainte sa moara. Dupa moartea ei, pe masa de toaleta a lui Marilyn s-au gasit 15 flacoane de medicamente.(...) De asemenea, Mariln facea foarte multe injectii cu vitamine, ca sa-si sporeasca rezistenta impotriva racelii i a infectiilor sinusurilor - probleme de sanatate cronice, in cazul ei. Uneori facea cateva injectii pe saptamana. Spre sfarsitul anului 1961, Marilyn capatase obiceiul ingrijorator de a-si face singura injectii. Multe persoane din jurul ei au observat ca in geanta avea seringi si sticlute cu substante deja preparate - nu se stie de catre cine. O sursa foarte apropiata a actritei isi aminteste ca substanta consta dintr-un amestec de fenobarbital, nembutal si seconal."Marilyn o numea o injectie cu vitamine", spune sursa."Cred ca stiu cine i-a dat combinatia asta de medicamente, insa prefer sa nu dezvalui numele, pentru ca nu am o siguranta de 100%. Ceea ce stiu este ca dupa ce-si facea aceasta injectie era terminata, nu mai era in stare sa functioneze." Jeanne Martin isi amintea ca inainte de plecarea lor din casa lui Frank, pentru croaziera din august 1961, Frank a rugat-o sa o ajute pe Marilyn sa se imbrace. Era prea dezorientata din cauza medicamentelor ca sa reuseasca singura."A trebuit sa aleg fiecare haina si s-o imbrac, la propriu", isi amintea Jeanne."O intrebam tot timpul: Marilyn, te simti bine? Mie mi se pare ca nu te simti bine. Ea se uita la mine cu ochii pe jumatate inchisi si spunea : Oh, ma simt bine. Nu se poate mai bine. Eram ingrijorata. Ma intrebam cine ii da toate medicamentele astea? Ce doctor ar tine-o intr-o astfel de stare? Era foarte...cum sa spun...pierduta." In acel sfarsit de saptamana, Marilyn a baut destula sampanie in fiecare seara, ca intotdeauna. Cu cat bea mai mult, cu atat era mai dezorientata si mai zgomotoasa."A fost o seara atat de trista," isi aminteste Jeanne Martin."Nu mi-am luat o clipa ochii de la ea, pentru ca mi-era teama ca va aluneca si va cadea. Nu puteti sti cat de dificil a fost; doar daca ati fi cunoscut-o pe Marilyn si ati fi stiut ce femeie minunata era, cat de draguta era cu toata lumea. Imi doream sa se simta bine, insa in ziua aceea, la petrecere, mi-am dat seama ca nu se simtea bine. Nu se simtea bine deloc."(...) Pentru prietenii si colegii lui Marilyn, felul in care era in tare sa intre in pielea lui Marilyn Monroe cand avea nevoie, in timp ce era atat de bolnava psihic, ramane un mister. Era ca si cum isi gasea fericirea in fata camerei, in postura unei variante perfecte a propriei persoane. Restul - viata ei reala, cea pe care o traia zi de zi - palea prin comparatie. Another song from "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" has been out everywhere on the web in full stream. Unlike "Can't Back Down" which involves many cast members from the TV movie, this new one titled "Wouldn't Change a Thing" is performed solely by Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas.

In an interview on Radio Disney earlier this year, Demi said, "That's [Wouldn't Change a Thing] close to my heart." She added, "It's probably one of my favorite parts of the movie." Beside the newly-revealed track, Demi and Joe also perform another joint track "You're My Favorite Song".
Featuring also Jonas Brothers, soundtrack album for the TV movie is up for sale in United States on August 10. Meanwhile, the sequel to 2008 "Camp Rock" is not going to be premiered until September 3.

The song was released as the album's third single on May 21, 2010. The song was written by Kesha, Pebe Sebert, with Ammo, who co-produced the song with Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco. "Your Love Is My Drug"'s initial writing took place during a plane ride. Kesha stated the song had a carefree message and wasn't meant to be taken too seriously. Critical reception of the song has been mixed to positive. Critics complimented the hook but had mixed reactions with the chorus. Some praised Kesha for knowing her way around a strong pop chorus, while others called it predictable and dull. Prior to the release of Animal, the song charted in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Since being released as a single it has gone on to reach the top five in Australia and the United States, as well as reaching the top ten in Canada. It has gone on to sell over two million copies in the US alone. Kesha performed the song alongside "Tik Tok" on the thirty-fifth season of Saturday Night Live where she was covered in glow in the dark tribal-like make-up. In the music video, Kesha is portrayed in the desert while being chased around by her love interest. The main idea behind the video is being so in love with someone that you lose your head, comparable to love being a drug. In an interview with MTV, Kesha stated the song was "written on an airplane, in like 10 minutes" and that the song had a carefree message; it is "stupid and fun" and not to be taken too seriously. When asked about the final line of the song ("I like your beard") and where it came from, Kesha explained, "I've always been into bearded dudes. Hello, I'm from Nashville, I'm into hillbillies[...] the redneck look is hot right now, and that's great for me. I'm over dudes trying to look like they're in boy bands." Kesha described the concept behind the video in an interview, "I wanted it to be like a psychedelic trip of the mind, comparable with being so disgustingly in love with someone that you lose your head." The song entered at number sixty-three on the UK Singles Chart, dropping off the chart the following week. The single re-entered the chart on the week of May 16, 2010, at sixty. On June 19, 2010 after four weeks of the single climbing the chart, it reached a new peak of thirteen. A music video supporting one of the soundtracks for Miley Cyrus' "Hannah Montana" season 4 has been out for viewing pleasure. Instead of seeing footage from the TV series, this clip follows a young ordinary girl who dreams to be a superstar. Although Miley is not highlighted, she isn't entirely shunned in this clip. In some points, she is seen performing the song in her Hannah Montana alter ego. Beside "Ordinary Girl", Miley Cyrus will also sing a song called "Still There for Me" in a special episode which is dedicated to U.S. troops and their families. In front of many children whose parents deployed abroad, she will sing the track in an intimate acoustic set with Billy Ray Cyrus playing guitar.
