MAKE A WAVE

A new duet track between and has got its radio airplay on Radio Disney Friday, February 26. Titled "Make a Wave", the single will then be made available for purchase on digital retails beginning March 15. It was showcased live for the very first time at Epcot theme park in Orlando on February 11 and will be featured in upcoming Disneynature film "".The comely crooners teamed up together to record the single in an effort to draw attention to Disney’s “Friends for Change: Project Green”, which inspires the younger generation to take active steps to exercise daily environmental stewardship. With lyrics like “just a pebble in the water can set the sea in motion, a simple act of kindness can stir the deepest ocean,” their eco-anthem promotes the power of rising up not just individually but also as a community to do what we can to help Mother Nature and specifically the ocean. The tune comes on the heels of Disney’s similarly themed 2009 hit “Send It On”, a collaborative effort between the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus in which they sing about how everyone is capable of inspiring positive change in the world.

In addition to releasing music with inspiring eco-and socially responsible lyrics, Disney’s timely year long Project Green initiative also involves motivational green-themed public service announcements delivered by their most popular stars like Gomez and Cyrus as well as consistent suggestions on how the Disney audience can change the world for the better, one step at a time. The release of the aforementioned singles adds to their comprehensive plan to keep eco-awareness at the forefront of everyone’s minds. To cap it all off, their target demographic will be enlisted to offer their suggestions on how best to utilize the one million dollars that Disney has earmarked for environmental conservation.

SAVE AMERICA'S WOLVES

Mike Senator, the new head leader of Defenders of Wildlife's legal team is flying to Missoula, Montana for Monday's hearing in federal court on their motion to stop the wolf hunts in Idaho and Montana. I wish him luck! More than 27,000 Defenders supporters (including myself) have sent emails or called the White House, and more than 3,000 people have supported their legal efforts with emergency donations to the Campaign to Save America's Wolves. With the help of caring people like you, Defenders of Wildlife helped lead the fight to restore wolves to the northern Rockies and were able to stop the killing of wolves in Wyoming and restore vital protections for wolves in that state!

HELP STOP KILLING OF WOLVES

Hundreds of gray wolves in the Northern Rockies and parts of Greater Yellowstone are no longer protected under the Endangered Species Act. In the Greater Yellowstone region hundreds of wolves could die in states like Idaho, Montana and Wyoming if federal protections are stripped from these still-recovering animals. In the past six years, more than 1000 wolves have been brutally slaughtered by Alaska's aerial killing program. Take action now to help save these wolves-go to www.savewolves.org and sign the petition to urge the Obama Administration to put an end to aerial gunning in Alaska. Defenders of Wildlife Org. has long led the fight to stop aerial wolf killing and promote sound management of wolves in Alaska. Sign the petition right now and help them end aerial gunning in Alaska before more wolves die!

ANIMAL RIGHTS IN ROMANIA

The idea of "animal rights" is that the basic interests of animals should be afforded the same consideration as the similar interests of humans. Animals should be viewed as legal persons and members of the community-not property, and that they should not be used as food, clothing, research subjects or entertainment. Animal law is taught in 112 law schools in the USA and in 8 schools in Canada. In Romania has been voted an animal protection law referring only about wild animals and animals with owners,it doesn't include the stray ones. Despite this, there are many animal foundations who are trying to do the best for the stray dogs found on the streets. White Fang Foundation is one of them created thanks to the initiative and efforts of some people who love animals. What is interesting about this foundation is the fact that you can adopt a specific dog from the shelter but you don't have to take the dog home because the foundation will take care of him with your financial support. You will receive pictures with the dog and information's about his life and health. Animals have no voice to educate the community about the laws that have been enacted to protect them. You can be the voice for them!
